With back to school in full force and busy nights ahead of us, I am finding myself reaching for new quick and easy dinner inspiration. I happen to love Italian sausage because its so flavorful and delicious, I can use it to make a simple meal that is flavor packed in no time. Theres nothing better than having a restaurant quality pasta dish on the table in 20 minutes! Plus, everyone in my house loves a good creamy pasta dish any night of the week!

Ingredients:

  • 1 Pound Ground Italian Sausage
  • 1 Pound Penne Pasta
  • 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 1/2 Yellow Onion (Minced)
  • 2 Cloves Garlic (Minced)
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
  • 2 Cups Heavy Cream
  • 5 Ounces Baby Spinach
  • 1 Cup Shredded Parmesan Cheese

Instruction:

  1. Cook the penne pasta in a large pot of salted boiling water according to package directions.
  2. While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Cook the Italian sausage along with the onion, garlic, red pepper flakes, and salt until the sausage is no longer pink.
  4. Drain excess fat from the skillet if necessary and return the meat mixture to the pan.
  5. Turn the heat to low and add the cream to the skillet. Bring to a simmer and add in the spinach.
  6. Cook, stirring for about 3 minutes until the spinach is wilted.
  7. Stir in the parmesan cheese until melted. Stir the pasta into the sauce.
  8. Serve immediately.

  • 8 ounce penne pasta (uncooked)
  • 1 Pound Ground Sausage
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon italian seasoning
  • 1 cup parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups spinach chopped
  • 1/2 cup sun dried tomatoes

Instruction:

  1. Bring a large pot to boil and cook the pasta according to package directions.
  2. In a large skillet add the sausage. Cook and crumble until it is no longer pink. Set aside on a plate.
  3. Add the heavy cream, chicken broth, garlic powder, italian seasoning, and parmesan cheese. Whisk over medium high heat until it starts to thicken. Add the spinach and sundried tomatoes and let it simmer until the spinach starts to wilt. Add the sausage back to the pan and add the pasta and stir until heated throughout.

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 pound Italian pork sausage
  • 1-1/4 cups water
  • 1 can (14.5 oz each) Hunt’s® Diced Tomatoes with Basil, Garlic and Oregano, undrained
  • 1 cup Hunt’s® Tomato Sauce
  • 8 ounces dry penne pasta, uncooked
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instruction:

  1. Heat large skillet over medium-high heat. Add sausage; cook 5 minutes, breaking apart with spoon to crumble. Drain; return to skillet.
  2. Add water, undrained tomatoes, tomato sauce and pasta to skillet; stir to combine. Bring to a boil. Cover; reduce heat and cook 15 minutes or until pasta is tender.
